JUVENTUS coach Claudio Ranieri claimed he "saw the real Juve" during tonight's 1-1 draw against AC Milan at the San Siro.
The pressure has been mounting on Ranieri after back-to-back draws against sides struggling at the foot of the table and their elimination from the Coppa Italia at the hands of Lazio, but they reacted well to earn a point in Milan.
"Tonight, we saw the real Juve again," he said. "Actually, I am quite disappointed with the result.
"Before the game, we knew we had not done well for the last month and a half and we were coming up against a side with the wind between their sails. So in that respect, I am delighted with how we played.
"But we had the better chances and could have won."
Vincenzo Iaquinta equalised three minutes after Clarence Seedorf had put Milan ahead in the 57th minute and the Italy striker claimed he and his team mates had played for Ranieri.
"The coach is doing a good job," he said.
"We showed tonight that we are tight squad which wants to win games.
"Recently, we have just lost the mentality which we managed to show again tonight. This is the real Juve."
According to Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, the last six weeks, during which Juventus have slipped out of contention for the Serie A title and risked losing out on a place in the Champions League next season, is the result of a mental collapse.
The bad string of form coincides with Juve's exit from the Champions League to Chelsea and Buffon feels his side were exceeding themselves beforehand.
"I think for nine months we were actually doing too well and then for the last one and a half months we have been doing too badly," he said.
"We did not have that same desire to win games that we had at the start of the season.
"But tonight is a signal that we are still compact and we could really do with this result after the last one and a half months."
Club president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli hopes the speculation surrounding Ranieri's future will die down and allow them to finish the season on a high.
"I am satisfied for the players and for the coach, who has had to put up with a lot recently," he said.
"Now we have to try and build on this for the final three games, but if we do still finish third, then I would be satisfied."
