QPR boss Harry Redknapp has revealed his top off-season transfer target is former England left-back Wayne Bridge.
The London club were relegated from the Premier League last term with a whimper, as they finished bottom of the table having accrued just 25 points.
Bridge, meanwhile, spent the season with Championship side Brighton, on loan from Manchester City, who he will leave on a free at the end of the month upon the expiration of his contract.
Despite many reports suggesting he would leave QPR after taking them down, Redknapp has committed his future to Loftus Road, although he hinted he could be forced to depart if he does not receive the necessary backing from the board.
"I'm trying to get Wayne Bridge in. I thought he did fantastic at Brighton last year and he would be a good left-back for us," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
"He's got got great experience and looks in good shape. He's a player that I really want to bring in on a free. We are pushing for that one.
"If we don't change it and I don't get the players that I want to bring in, then we have not got a chance.
"You can't have other people have a say at all. I'm a football person and I've got a staff around me of football people. We've got to make the decisions and, if we make the right ones, we will have a chance.
"Otherwise, if other people want to make decisions, we've got no chance. If I don't get that, then I wouldn't stick around. I'm trying to get Wayne Bridge. I'm hoping that's the first deal I can do."
