Bent was whisked off Spurs' Beijing-bound plane on Monday night to travel north and discuss a move to Sunderland.

It appeared a formal announcement of his signing with the Black Cats was only a matter of time but reports have now suggested Bent is also a target for Hull and Villa.

But Redknapp, who watched his side secure a place in the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy today with a 1-0 win over West Ham, revealed he has heard nothing further regarding Bent.

"I have no idea," he said. "I haven't spoke to the chairman for two days so I don't know where we are with that deal with Sunderland.

"When we came away it was very close but I have not heard any more.

"I'll speak with the chairman and see if anything is happening but if not then we have a terrific strike force for next season."

Jermain Defoe struck the only goal of the game today to set-up an encounter with either Hull or Beijing Guoan in the final at Beijing's Workers Stadium on Friday.

And Redknapp was delighted with the performance of his side.

"It was a terrific workout," he added. "We passed the ball great and had lots of chances.

"Overall we kept the ball great and I'm pleased with the way we played."
