Adelaide United defender Iacopo La Rocca is expecting a packed stadium for the champions’ first home game since their grand final triumph.
The Reds host grand final foes Western Sydney Wanderers at Coopers Stadium on Friday night on a week when CEO Grant Meyer praised the club’s Membership growth.
Adelaide has already signed up 8,759 Members for the 2015/16 season, up already on last campaign’s final figure of 8,750.
Buoyed by last season’s double success and a grand final crowd of more than 50,000 fans at Adelaide Oval, the Reds will be hoping for a bumper crowd against Wanderers.
“After what we’ve seen in the grand final, I expect the reigning champions to have a packed stadium,” La Rocca said.
“Especially for the first game, I’m excited to play in front of my supporters.”
In a Twitter chat with fans, Meyer also said Coopers Stadium’s capacity of 16,500 could be expanded if the club consistently fills the venue.
He also said more than 10,000 tickets to Friday’s game had been sold on Wednesday and was hoping for a crowd of around 14-15,000.
Hey Lawrence. If we fill it regularly, government will upgrade or purpose build. It's in our and your hands. #AUFCTalk https://t.co/C1zOYWtSm7

Meanwhile, La Rocca said he was fully confident again following a fractured cheekbone in pre-season.
The Italian played 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle Jets on Sunday, having suffered the injury in the FFA Cup against Redlands United in early August.
“Maybe just last game I still didn’t have the right confidence,” he said.
“After the first header my confidence is better and now I’m okay.
“I’m fully confident to get through the 90 minutes.
“It’s just I think I need a few more games. When I play centre-back, I get to run less. If you play smart you can go through the 90 minutes.”
