Vidosic, who returned to Australia during the off-season after four years in Germany, missed Adelaide's opening fixture after an interrupted pre-season, but sparkled on his club debut against Victory.

The 24-year-old was busy throughout the contest connecting forward thrusts but he told Fox Sports after the game it's only the beginning.

“I was happy with my performance but I feel as though I can get better. I'm just getting my sharpness back,” Vidosic said.

“I had a good chance which I should've buried, but I think it was a case of tired legs. Hopefully we can get that right next week.”

Vidosic combined especially well with striker Sergio van Dijk who netted the winner.

The new Reds man added: “We worked very good tonight and with time it's only going to get better.”

The A-League switch of Vidosic, who has 14 caps for Australia, was somewhat overshadowed by the returns of high-profile Socceroos Brett Emerton and Harry Kewell, but the youngster said he wanted people to know he was back too.

“I don't want to be in the backlight. People are talking about Harry, who I've learned so much off, but I want to show people I'm here as well,” Vidosic said.

Reds boss Rini Coolen said he felt Vidosic played a major role in the result.

“He's an individual who can change the game and he's a very good football player. He did a few great things and it was good to have him on the pitch,” Coolen said.

“We played a little bit different, without Bruce (Djite). We changed the formation in midfield, with the controlling midfielder in (Yevhen) Levchenko to give more freedom to Spase Dilevski and Vidosic and that worked very, very well.”

Coolen added: “It was a deserved win after a bad game last week (1-0 loss to Perth). Everyone understood we had to play a little bit different and that's what we saw today. It was the real Adelaide United on the pitch. Great effort, a lot of chances and that's what we want.”
