But ex-Celtic midfielder Bobby Petta has been overlooked by Reds coach Aurelio Vidmar

Former Central Coast Mariners and Sydney FC defender Ceccoli and United's latest signing Ognenovski, who joined the Reds from Queensland Roar last week, will look to help Adelaide progress from the group stage of the continental competition after missing out in their maiden appearance last year.

Petta has missed out with Vidmar only able to select three foreign players, and with Ivory Coast midfielder Jonas Salley and Brazilians Cassio and Diego included, the Dutchman will not feature.

Midfielder Fabian Barbiero, who made three appearances in the A-League last Season, is also included after signing a six month contract.

Despite being ruled out of the group stage with the continued recovery from his knee injury, captain Michael Valkanis has been named squad.

Midfielder Kristian Sarkies is currently sidelined after suffering a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in his arm at the end of December and will not be in contention for the first two games, but is hopeful of being available for the back-to-back double header against Vietnam champions Binh Duong in April.

The 25-man squad has been submitted to Asia's governing body, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and is subject to approval.

The Reds kick-off their campaign at K-League champions Pohang Steelers on March 12.
