The Brazilian saw the bulk of season four ruined by injury as he battled with osteitis pubis.

After a painful absence, he is battling his way back towards fitness and is optimistic about the future.

He told his club's website: "I'm getting much better now. I have done some different work with Tony Ganter and I started to kick the ball last week. I hope by the start of the season I'm ready to play.

"I look forward to playing this year because last year I was very disappointed about the injury, but this is football."

The Roar Roadshows will continue next Tuesday, May 26 at Redlands United, Waterloo St, Cleveland from 5pm
