The pair have spent this season at newly promoted Suwon FC who suffered a final day 1-0 loss to Incheon United condemning them to the drop.

Suwon needed victory to stave off relegation for the timebeing, with a win enough to book them a spot in the playoff.

Djite started and played 84 minutes in the defeat, while Leijer was an unused substitute.

Ex-Melbourne Victory defender Leijer made 28 appearances for Suwon after joining them in February from Chinese club Chongqing Lifan.

Djite scored five goals in 13 appearances for Suwon after his July move from Adelaide United.

Elsewhere on Saturday, former Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets midfielder Cameron Watson was part of the Bengaluru side which lost the AFC Cup final.

Watson played 90 minutes as the Indian outfit went down 1-0 to Iraqi club Al Quwa Al Jawiya.
