The Argentine has had a potential move to Serie A champions AC Milan fall through, and City boss Roberto Mancini wants Tevez out on a permanent deal.

Inter have offered the English Premier League leaders 20.7 million pounds for Tevez, but it reportedly does not meet City's valuation of the 27-year-old.

Claudio Ranieri's men edged city rivals AC Milan 1-0 in the Serie A on Sunday, with Diego Milito scoring the winner.

In an interview with Radio Anch'io Sport on Monday, Ranieri said he was unsure whether his team needed Tevez.

"Tevez? I repeat what I've already said. There is balance now and the team has become solid," Ranieri said.

"Tevez is a champion, but he hasn't played for a long time, so we need to understand how much this lad can give and how much he can take away. These are the assessments that we'll make.

"We'll decide together with the president. I haven't known him (president Massimo Moratti) for a long time, but I have a very good relationship with him and we understand each other very well."

Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a move for Tevez, who remains in Argentina and has not played for City since late September, when he allegedly refused to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
