“This is a finisher’s boot,” explains Max Blau, VP of Nike Football Footwear. “Every component of this boot was built for goals.”

You score goals to win games of football. Right? It is the basis of the sport after all.

Those dedicated marksman, wingers, strikers... attackers you may refer to, are called upon to deliver the ball smack bang into the back of the net. So it makes sense for Nike to completely revolve the new HyperVenom based on being a true attackers boot...

Featuring a full FlyKnit upper, the HyperVenom III is going to deliver a sock-like fit, wrapping your feet in a thin, responsive knitted material. Look at the amount of pro's that wear FlyKnit boots these days and you'll understand how well it performs.

“We wanted a softened, flexible upper on HyperVenom III and knew Flyknit was the best way to achieve this,” explains the boot’s designer, Dylan Van Atta.

“By designing down to the pixel, we’re able to bond the texture only where necessary to keep it supple for comfort and touch.”

Upon the striking element, Nike introduced Foad Striking Pods to dampen and return energy thorugh the ball, which in theory will give better accuracy and power... after all, it IS a finisher's boot.

About three metres of FlyWire cabling is used to construct the pull-lace structure that surrounds the lateral and medial sides of the boot. This in turn will provide a lockdown sensation and tighter fit, ensuring agility is at it's prime, and rollover or injured ankles being a thing of the past.

Further lateral stability comes from HyperVenom III’s new Dynamic Fit Collar, which features a redesigned agility cuff. “The prominent bones in your ankle are offset by up to 10mm and HyperVenom III mirrors this,” explains Van Atta. “Lateral cutting can subject ankles to an extreme angle and this boot was designed with that in mind.”

If you're a more low-cut boot, the Phinish version of the HyperVenom awaits, featuring all the tech specs and gizmos seen, just without the FlyKnit Collar.

Hypervenom III is also the first Nike Football boot to feature the entirely new, Hyper-Reactive plate that combines a flexible Pebax® material in the forefoot with a sturdier nylon material for support.

“The Hyper-Reactive plate has been in development for six years,” states Van Atta. “We drew inspiration from Nike Free to create a more flexible forefoot that stays in contact with the ground while the heel is lifted for sharp cuts.”

Building off of Nike Football’s Traction Revolution, HyperVenom III also features a new, FEA data-informed traction pattern built for lateral cuts at sharp angles. “We leveraged hexagon studs for rotation and push-off so players could cut confidently,” explains Van Atta, “while incorporating sidewall chevrons for lateral and medial traction.”

Whether you're Lewandowski or Sunday League Dave, the HyperVenom III looks to be cut out as a true attackers boot, and will be available on Nike.com January 30, 2017 in the Poison Green/Hyper Orange colourway.
