The French star hits back at critics after eating 500 euro gold-coated steak
Franck Ribery has taken to social media to hit back at critics after a video of the French footballer digging into a gold-coated steak was posted on his Twiter.
No better way to start the year than with a dash of salt and a visit to my Turkish brother 🇹🇷👌🏼 #SaltBae #fr7👑 #ELHAMDOULILLAH🤲🏽♥️ pic.twitter.com/O5ztj4mueq

The Bayern Munich player visited a steak-house owned by Turkish celebrity Nurset Gokce, better known as Salt Bae, where he ordered the most expensive steak on the menu.
The 24-carat gold steak, as well as the antics within the video, landed the 35-year-old in hot water on social media with many criticising his outlandish display of wealth.
However, Ribery replied to the criticism with a foul-mouthed response on Twitter.
His response read: "For 2019, let's dot the i's and cross the t's...,"
"Let's start with the jealous, the haters, those only born because a condom had a hole in: f*** your mothers, your grandmothers and even your family tree. I owe you nothing.
"My success is, above all, thanks to God, me, and my loved ones who believed me.
"For the others, you're nothing but pebbles in my socks!"
Ummah Charity, a Paris-based charity aiming to aid international humanitarianism came to the defence of Ribery tweeting: "Without any intention to justify anything, we confirm that @FrankRibery is one of our most generous donors. Thanks to him and his wife who spend lavishly to finance our humanitarian activities..."
Ribery also lashed out against "pseudo-journalists" for their negative coverage of the French star in the media.
"When I donate (because I was taught to give when I earn a lot...) Why does not a major national media broadcast that? No, you prefer to talk about the holidays that I go on with my family, you scrutinise my actions, what I eat, etc!" Ribery tweeted.
French journalist and president of the Nicolas Hulot Foundation, Audrey Pulvar, was one of the most critical of Ribery's actions.
Pulvar tweeted: "Mr. @Frank Ribery if you do not know what to do with your money, there are plenty of causes to fund and support, worldwide."
Ribery, after already targetting the media in his defence, replied with a Tweet showing Pulvar wearing a pair of glasses that he believed cost 3,000 euros.
His caption said: "I do what I want with my money."
