Nicollin said he would have pursued Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo or Barcelona maestro Lionel Messi rather than the Swedish forward, if he had the funds available.

Ibrahimovic left Milan for a reported 23 million Euros as PSG look to take the Ligue 1 title from Montpellier.

"I'm really happy for Paris, really happy for PSG," Nicollin said.

"I hope that they will do well. But if I had money, lots of money, I would not have taken the 'pony tail'. I would have taken Ronaldo or someone like that.

"Will he struggle? I don't know. He won't if he is the great player that everybody says he is.

"Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi, OK, but Ibrahimovic, he's never impressed me.

"I have two of his shirts in my collection - one from Inter and one from Milan - and it doesn't really excite me too much.

"Ronaldo, yes, the true one of course, not the retired one, Messi, yes, Ibrahimovic, if you say so."

Meanwhile, Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda wants the club to turn a new leaf following a torrid 2011-12 campaign.

Marseille finished 10th as local rivals Montpellier landed their first Ligue 1 title, but Mandanda believes new coach Elie Baup can bring success back to the Stade Velodrome.

"Even if we did only finish 10th, it's still a good team and we underperformed," Mandanda said.

"As the coach said, if we all work together, we all have the same mindset, a good mindset, I'm convinced that we can have a better season and that we can be successful.

"When you have a new coach and new staff, the mindset can sometimes change.

"Everybody wants to play, everybody knows that it's back to day one, you have to give everything to win your spot in the starting eleven."
