The re-signing of Henrique, 32, comes after the Brazilian-Australian publicly announced he wished to return the Roar, and began training with them in recent weeks.

It shows John Aloisi isn't slowing down on the plethora of plus-30s in his squad, Henrique becomes the ninth player over 30-years-old in the Brisbane Roar team.

'The Slippery Fish' returns after departing Brisbane in 2016 and failing to settle in at any of his recent clubs.

He lulled through unsuccessful stints at Malay Super League side Negeri Sembilan, Thai League T1 sides Chiangrai United and Jumpasri United, and Iranian side Gostaresh Foulad. He also had a short spell at Adelaide United.

“I’ve been dreaming about this moment for a long time. I always wanted to return to the Brisbane Roar and I’m so happy that this day has come,” Henrique said.

“The fans have a special place in my heart and I know I have a special place in their hearts.

“I can’t wait to play in front of our supporters, and I promise I will do my very best to reward the fans and the Club.

“I would like to thank John Aloisi, the coaching staff and everyone involved in making this happen and giving me this opportunity.”
