BRISBANE Roar have hit Danny Tiatto in the pocket following his finger-flip to the Melbourne Victory crowd last week.
Tiatto was caught by television cameras making an abuse gesture during the match and his actions have been condemned by his club.
Brisbane Roar CEO Peter McLennan said although Tiatto was a highly valued member of the team, it was important the club maintained a high level of professionalism.
"The club fully supports Danny as a footballer and his enormous contribution to the club through his undeniable talent and commitment," McLennan said.
"However, in this instance the club does not condone his actions and believes it is not the right message to be sending to the thousands of young fans around the country.
"The club will not tolerate that level of behaviour from any player or staff member."
Tiatto has been issued with a fine by the club but Roar are refusing to reveal the size of the penalty.
