Roar came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Victory at Suncorp Stadium by playing the type of football Mulvey said he wants to see from them.

Former right back Ivan Franjic, who has been in fine form since moving from right back to a more advanced role down the right flank in recent weeks, scored the equaliser for Brisbane after Leigh Broxham's first half header had given Victory the lead.

Though Brisbane needed three points to climb back into the top six, the players' willingness to play positive football would stand them in good stead in the run in to the finals, according to Mulvey.

"I'm very pleased with the way we tried to play the game," he said.

"And I thought that our penetration was stilted a little bit in the first half because we didn't move the ball quickly enough and we didn't make the most of the opportunities we had in wide areas where we had an overlap or we had a numerical advantage."

Brisbane were dominant in the second half, and had several chances to win the match in the closing stages, most notably through Ben Halloran and Besart Berisha.

"But we did better in the second half," Mulvey said. "The style of football we're playing I'm comfortable with.

"We're moving the ball comfortably between the lines. We just needed to do it with a little bit more speed tonight, and face forward a little bit more when we were on the edge of the box to get those combinations happening.

"If we continue in our current vein in terms of the way that we're passing the ball and moving, we don't go into any game with any fears at all.

"We've got three games left, two at home. The performance is the key. I'm really happy with the performance."
