BRISBANE Roar fans packed the city's streets on Tuesday to hail the A-League champions with a ticker tape parade.
The Roar won their second successive A-League title with a dramatic 2-1 grand final victory over Perth Glory on Sunday.
Brisbane had to wait until the seventh minute of injury time in the second half to find the winner through a controversial Besart Berisha penalty.
Thousands of the Roar faithful were on hand in Brisbane as the championship-winning players were paraded through the city.
"Brisbane is a great city, so it's fantastic that we have a great football team," Queensland Premier Campbell Newman said.
"They've done so well for the second year in a row.
"I just want to say what a great team effort it was, it's not just the people who go on the field it's all the coaching staff, the owners themselves who support the team financially.
"Let's hope in 2013 they can bring it home again for (the) third time in a row."
The parade proved to be the final official duty for coach Ange Postecoglou, who resigned from his post and is widely expected to join Melbourne Victory as manager.
"The boys have had a hard couple of days as you can see by the sunglasses, but they've earned it," Postecoglou said.
"I've said it many times they are a fantastic bunch of young men. I couldn't be prouder of them. I'm pleased that they got their rewards for their hard work on Sunday.
"Of course they didn't do us any favours by leaving it so late, but we'll let that go.
"But to everyone involved in the club as it has been pointed out it's not just about one or two people, the whole club contributes to the success.
"The football staff and the administration staff are all the best in the business. We wouldn't be where we were without them."
