Roar teen Nick D'Agostino has signed a two-year deal and is off on a unique opportunity to train with a top-flight European side.
Scoring 11 goals in 10 games in the National Premier Leagues, D'Agostino also made his debut last year against Perth Glory and is ecstatic to have signed with his hometown club.
“Being just 18 years old and signing my first full professional contract is a dream come true,” D’Agostino said.
“Coming through Gold Coast and Queensland channels as a junior footballer, there’s nothing better than growing up and playing for the Brisbane Roar.”
Due to his performances, Belgian club RKC Genk have kept a keen interest in the youngster and invited him to train with the club with the possibility of a loan deal on the table.
“Genk have been keeping tabs on me since I debuted against Perth and I’m guessing that they liked what they saw,” D’Agostino said.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to go over (to Belgium) and show them what I can do.
“All my family and friends have always had belief in me, and I’m looking forward to showing them what I can do.
“I’ll put in the hard work and who knows what might happen.”
