GOLD Coast United owner Clive Palmer has added fire to Sunday's Boxing Day derby clash against Brisbane Roar claiming his side will bring the A-League leaders 'crumbling down'.
Roar are top of the A-League table and haven't been beaten in their past 17 matches, but Palmer said Gold Coast's undefeated record against their Queensland rivals would continue.
"The Roar are going to come crumbling down when we play them. They have never beaten us and that isn't going to change on Boxing Day," Palmer told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
"They have never come close to beating us even though they are top of the table. They haven't had anything like the injuries we've suffered this season and that's what's cost us a little in terms of the league table.
"But we have our best players all available again. We are still fourth and we'll be going there to win in Suncorp and also bring home the A-League title this season, as well as the Youth League title for a second successive year.
"We know our best team is capable of beating anybody and it's all going to come together for us.
"As a club we are getting ready to explode and a lot of teams are going to feel the effects of that, starting with the Roar."
In other news, the Gold Coast Bulletin claims United have secured a deal for German defender Peter Perchtold to join the club on a 10-match guest stint.
