Late drama saw Adelaide United steal all three points from Brisbane Roar in a thrilling 2-1 win at Suncorp Stadium Friday night.
Massimo Maccarone opened his A-League account with his first goal for Brisbane to gain an early lead, but it was substitute Ryan Kitto and Johan Absalonsen who sparked the comeback.
BRISBANE ROAR
(GK) Michael THEO - 6.5
The veteran gloveman made some great saves in the first half, where he was very decisive in his actions, but unfortunately conceded two late goals that were unstoppable.

Corey BROWN – 7.5
Was quick to react in the first half, and assisted Maccarone brilliantly with an accurate cross into the penalty area for the oncoming striker.
Luke DEVERE – 7
The defender looked confident in making vital tackles and kept the Adelaide attackers in front of the defensive line in the first half.
Avraam PAPADOPOULOS - 6.5
Still not 100% fit, but he made critical stops in the first 45 minutes and showed strength. But he allowed George Blackwood a good chance.
Jade NORTH - 6.5
Solid in defence for the first half, and ruffled some feathers.

Matt MCKAY - 7
A solid night at the back for McKay, held the defence together throughout the first half.

Joe CALETTI – 6.5
The youngster had a good eye for attack and linked-up well in the midfield.
Fahid BEN KHALFALLAH - 7.5
Beating players with skill and produced some great through balls into dangerous areas. Is proving to be a pivotal player for his new club.
Nicholas D’AGOSTINO – 7.5
Threatening runs and crosses and looked very dangerous on and off the ball. Had a massive chance to double his side’s lead following an error by Paul Izzo.

Petros SKAPETIS
Looked lively and swift, whilst producing some bright ideas. He had a great chance in the 29th minute with a run in from behind.
Massimo MACCARONE - 8.5
The Italian’s experience really shone brightly in this match, especially with his expert finish into the back of the net with a volley.

SUBS
Brett HOLMAN - 7.5
Dangerous as soon as he stepped on the pitch almost making an immediate impact on the score-line.

Wasn’t on the field long enough to give a fair rating.

(GK) Paul IZZO - 6
Lack of composure, clumsy error that could have seen a second goal but did make a few good saves to keep Adelaide in the game.
Ben GARUCCIO - 5.5
Poor defending on the first goal, but unsighted for most of the night.

Ersan GÜLÜM – 8
Read the play well to break a dangerous counter attack and produced vital clearances.
Jordan ELSEY- 6
Gave away a free-kick on the edge of the box and flew under the radar for most of the match.
Michael MARRONE - 7
Was solid and made a great run into the area where his shot almost gave his side the equaliser.

Daniel ADLUNG – 8
The German delivered great passes and crosses, after having a lot of the ball. A great strike reflecting his technical ability flashed past the post in the second half.
ISAÍAS - 8
Crucial tackles, and got possession back in the middle of the park a number of times.

Vince LIA - 6
A few decent balls but was fairly quiet throughout the match.
Johan ABSALONSEN – 9
Is proving to be one of United’s best players this season, creating several chances and getting into good areas.
The Great Dane possesses a fiery left boot and finesse to match, placing the winner into the top of Theo’s goal with a superb strike.

George BLACKWOOD – 7
Good effort with a header towards goal and a great hit that crashed against the post, but could have done a lot more with better service.
Nikola MILEUSNIC - 7
Great runs and passes but wasn’t able to make an impact.
SUBS
Baba DIAWARA - 6
Did not make much of an impact after being subbed on.
Nathan KONSTANDOPOULOS 6.5
Flicked a header wide of the post in a good effort.
Ryan KITTO - 7.5
Made a spectacular impact off of the bench to neatly navigate the ball past Theo for the leveller.
