BRISBANE Roar Women have defeated Sydney FC Women 1-0 in soaring heat at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday.
Joanne Burgess scored the winner on 50 minutes with an effort from outside the area.
The Roar gallantly held on to condemn the Sky Blues to their second defeat of the campaign.
The result also denies Sydney the opportunity to go the top of the W-League table.
Brisbane are now four points clear at the summit.
