CRAIG Moore and his Brisbane Roar teammates will don yellow boots against Newcastle Jets in support of the Cancer Council's Call to Arms campaign this weekend.
As well as the bright new footwear worn by Moore and a number of his team mates, both Roar and Newcastle Jets will wear yellow armbands in support of the initiative during the pre-season friendly.
After overcoming a cancer scare late last year, Moore said he was delighted to help promote the Call to Arms on Sunday.
"It's just great to be able to continue to raise awareness, because that's what it's all about," he said. "Unfortunately (cancer) is out there and it doesn't discriminate, so anything we can do to help, we're obviously delighted."
Looking at matters on the park, Moore said the team needed to maintain the intensity of last week's match against Celtic.
"We started off the game brightly, we played at a good intensity and that's important," he said. "If you can play at a high intensity and play well at a high intensity then you'll do very well in this league."
Sunday's match will be Roar's third last pre-season hit-out, and the second last against Hyundai A-League opposition.
With the season fast approaching, coach Frank Farina said it was important the team gathered momentum and consistency.
"This Sunday and the following week against North Queensland is good preparation for us," he said.
"As long as we show that we're working hard and putting in the hard yards, that's what it's all about. That's what we're looking to get out of these next two games."
Sunday's pre-season friendly between Roar and the Jets kicks off at 2.30pm at Ballymore Stadium, Herston.
Tickets for the match will be available from the Clyde Road entrance and will cost $14 for adults, $6.50 for concessions and free for children 12 and under when accompanied by a full-paying adult.
