Sport Bild magazine recently ran a story which depicted the Dutchman as a selfish player who had lost the faith of his team-mates, but Robben says that is ridiculous.

"It is not true and it gets on my nerves too," said Robben, who broke his silence in an interview with Munich's Tz newspaper.

"It just makes me laugh. Whoever writes things like that has absolutely no idea.

"I have the faith of my team, my coach and the board. That is all that counts."

Robben has spent much of the last six weeks sidelined with injury and only made his comeback in the 1-0 defeat by Borussia Dortmund last weekend.

He also played in Tuesday's Champions League win over Villarreal, after which he thanked the club for standing by him throughout a difficult few months.

"I am very pleased with the support I have received from the entire club," he added.
