Robben has seen the start of his Real career badly hampered by injuries and before Sunday's game he had started only three league matches for the Spanish giants since his summer switch from Chelsea.

However, he was able to make a hitherto rare 90-minute appearance against Valladolid, and he capped that by netting his maiden Primera Liga strike for the club, coolly finishing Guti's through-ball in the first half.

"I am very happy," he said. "This result is superb.

"I got my first goal in the league, and for this I am happy, but I am even more so for having completed the 90 minutes. This makes me especially happy.

"It was a important goal for me. I dedicate it to my wife, whose birthday is today (Sunday). We have experienced some very tough times together, so this is for her."

Regarding his injury setbacks, the 24-year-old winger added on his club`s website: "I am feeling very good, the knee has been perfect for a few weeks and the muscular problems I had are forgotten.

"I am well and I want to maintain this rhythm and above all the enthusiasm."
