The Brazilian Roberto Carlos, is the winner of the 2008 Golden Foot award, the international career award dedicated to the greatest champions of world football.
The fans of the left back, currently plying his trade at Fenerbahce, backed their favourite heavily giving him a total of 38,384 votes, compared with 18,150 votes for Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and 12,742 votes for AS Roma captain Francesco Totti.
