Roda JC claimed their first win of the Eredivisie season after a Pa-Modou Kah strike 10 minutes from time handed them all three points against Heracles Almelo in Kerkrade.
Roland Lamah gave the hosts an early lead, but Ragnar Klavan looked to have earned the visitors a share of the spoils before the Norwegian defender claimed the 2-1 winner.
Raymond Atteveld's side, who drew 1-1 draw with NEC Nijmegen in their opening game, got off to a flying start in their first home game of the season.
They were in front after just four minutes when a flying run and cross from Marcel de Jong down the left saw the ball come to Bas Sibum, who then played in Lamah in the centre of the penalty area to thump the ball home.
Andres Oper had an excellent chance to double the advantage on the half-hour mark, but chipped his shot straight over from point-blank range.
Immediately after half-time, De Jong drew a fine save from Martin Pieckenhagen - his 20-yard shot scrambled away by the Heracles goalkeeper.
The visitors first chance arrived in the 52nd minute when Klaven's shot from the edge of the penalty area was punched away by Bram Castro.
Lamah and then Sibum both wasted good chances to wrap up the win with wayward efforts flying into the home crowd.
And Klaven made them pay in the 76th minute, latching on to a delightfully floated free-kick from Igor Glusevic before controlling the ball and placing it beyond the helpless Castro.
However, the joy was shortlived as four minutes later Kah's original shot from six yards could only be parried by Pieckenhagen back to the defender, who made no mistake with his second bite leaving Ruud Brood's side still searching for their first point.
