Socceroo Tom Rogic can become one of Europe’s top midfielders, according to Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
Speaking upon Rogic’s return to the Celtic squad for the midweek clash with Partick Thistle after an ankle injury, Rodgers was glowing in his praise of the Australian.
The former Liverpool boss called Rogic “amazing” and labelled him “the magic man”.
“He’s back in the squad. The magic man is back – what a player,” Rodgers said.
“He’s an amazing player. I think he can grow into one of the top midfield players in Europe.
“You saw him grow in the Champions League. You saw him against Manchester City and just purr at his quality.
“That’s what he can develop into – there’s no doubt he’s top class.
“He’s a good boy, too, and devoted to his profession. He’s a key player.”

Rogic, who was linked with Arsenal last year, had scored 10 goals in 27 appearances prior to the injury he suffered on December 17 against Dundee.
The Australian appeared set to return to action in late January, before re-injuring his ankle at training and undergoing surgery shortly after.
“There was a big disappointment when he got injured because the week building up to it he was amazing,” Rodgers said.
“Top players know where there is space and he’s as good as any I’ve seen at finding space.
“What he needed to do was gain intensity and strength and gain more end product and he did all of that up until he got injured.
“He’s a great boost for us in this last 10 games.”
Celtic clinched the Scottish Premier League title over the weekend and have a Scottish Cup semi-final coming up against Rangers later this month.
