Rogic was a 62nd minute substitute for Celtic during the 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) overnight.

The appearance marked the Australian’s first competitive action since suffering an ankle injury on December 17 against Dundee.

He re-injured the ankle in training in late January and underwent surgery in early February.

However, Rogic's stint on the sidelines has meant he missed Australia's World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and UAE last month.

He also watched on from the stands as Celtic secured the SPL title with a 5-0 win over Hearts on the weekend.

“It’s nice to be back, I’ve been out a while now and I’ve been working hard,” Rogic said.

“It’s good to get back out there.

“It’s not been easy being out but you have to deal with it.

“I’ve been working as hard as I can every day to get back as soon as possible, so it was great to get back out on the pitch.

“It’s been a fantastic season and it’s been great to be part of it.”

Rogic’s manager Brendan Rodgers heaped praise on the Australian early this week, labelling him “the magic man”.

He also said Rogic could become “one of Europe’s top midfielders” and the Socceroo welcomed his support.

“The manager’s been fantastic throughout my injury,” Rogic said.

“He always spoke to me and gave that motivation to keep working hard.

“The good thing about this team, is that it’s a collective group of players and staff who work well together.”

Rogic’s return from injury comes days after Celtic clinched the league title but insisted there was still plenty to play for, with a Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers coming up.

“I’ve had my rest, there’s still a lot to play for this season and there’s no let up,” Rogic said.

“Everyone is working hard together and we’ll keep pushing until there are no more games.”
