Socceroo Tom Rogic won’t play again until late January due to an ankle injury which has ruled him out of Saturday’s Old Firm derby.
Rogic has missed Celtic’s past three matches, including the 2-0 win over Ross County overnight, after being forced off at half time against Dundee after a tackle from Darren O’Dea.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers had said last week he hoped Rogic would return to face County but has now extended that timeframe.
“Rogic won’t make the game on Saturday,” Rodgers said.
“That’s disappointing for him as he’s been outstanding, but it’s about the collective and we will be ready.
“Tom will be back after the mid-season break. It’s not a long-term injury.”
Celtic’s next game after the Scottish break is in the Scottish Cup on 22 January against Albion Rovers.
The Scottish Premier League resumes on Australia Day, with Celtic at home to St Johnstone.
The Socceroos aren’t in action until late March with 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and UAE.
