Rogic had an early chance and sprayed a shot wide from outside the box on 31 minutes, after Patrick Roberts and Kelechi Iheanacho traded goals inside the first 10 minutes.

The Australian got his first full 90 minutes of Celtic's group stage campaign, having started five of the club's six matches.

The Scotsman rated Rogic's performance seven out of 10.

"The Australian went close with an early effort that was palmed away by Willy Caballero," The Scotsman wrote.

"Other than that, he didn’t have as much of an impact on the attacking end as he would have liked. But he still worked hard at pressing City’s defenders and often helped win the ball high up the pitch."

Rogic is the only Australian to get any game-time during the 2016/17 Champions League campaign, although Robbie Kruse's Bayer Leverkusen play their final group game tomorrow morning (AEDT).

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was happy with his team's display against City, with Rogic playing a big part.

“We showed great composure when we had to build it so the energy and quality was at high level so I’m disappointed we didn’t win as we had chances in the game," Rodgers said.
