The 2.Bundesliga outfit confirmed Rojas’ contract, which had another year to run, had been terminated by mutual agreement on Monday.

Rojas’ availability is likely to attract the interest of a raft of A-League clubs given his previous success in Australia.

The New Zealand international has struggled since moving from Melbourne Victory to Stuttgart in 2013 after winning the A-League’s top individual honour.

The 24-year-old winger never broke into the Stuttgart first team and wasn’t in the frame under new boss Jos Luhukay after returning to the club in the off-season following a loan spell in Switzerland.

Rojas had spent the past season and a half on loan with Swiss club FC Thun, making 37 appearances and scoring four goals.

Prior to that he had an underwhelming half-season loan with 2.Bundesliga outfit Greuther Furth.

The All Whites flyer only played 20 times last term for Thun, who are currently eighth with one win after five games in the Swiss Super League.

Rojas spent two seasons at Victory where he scored 15 goals in 51 appearances, as well as two campaigns at Wellington Phoenix as a teenager.

He won the Johnny Warren medal and A-League Young Footballer of the Year in the 2012-13 season where he scored 15 goals in 27 games for Victory.
