KIWI Messi Marco Rojas has revealed he is close to finalising a deal to take him to Europe, with a Bundesliga club most likely to win the Melbourne Victory star's signature.
Rojas set the A-League on fire last season, striking up a devastating partnership with striker Archie Thompson to rip defences apart.
The former Wellington Phoenix rookie's outstanding form earned him both the Johnny Warren Medal as A-League player of the year and the Young Player of the Year award at Monday night's A-League glamorama ceremony.
It was the first time in Australia since Mark Viduka that a player had picked up both the senior and young player of the year award in a single season.
But it may be the last the A-League sees of Rojas, although he admits staying at Victory is still being considered.
He told his local paper back in New Zealand his future was close to being finalised, but he was ignoring reported interest from both Liverpool and Juventus to focus on a switch to Germany.
He has been linked with several Bundesliga clubs, including Werder Bremen, Nuremburg and Wolfsburg, and is now mulling over options with his agent dad, Rodi.
''It will be soon, it won't drag on,'' Rojas told the Dominion Post. ''I can just tell you that I didn't hear anything about the Liverpool and Juventus ones, other than rumours.
"But there are offers there, there are a few so we'll look over those and look over the one for staying here and decide what's going to be best.''
