Dennis Rommedahl has vowed to stay and fight for his place in the Ajax first team despite being told he is surplus requirements at the Amsterdam ArenA.
The 30-year-old Denmark winger is one of eight players made available for transfer by new Ajax coach Marco van Basten but the former PSV Eindhoven and Charlton midfielder is determined to force his way back into the reckoning.
"Ajax coach Marco van Basten told me that I could be sold if a club showed their interest," Rommedahl told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.
"I have told him now that I want to keep on fighting for my place."
Ajax begin the new Eredivisie campaign against Willem II on August 30.
