The 32-year-old striker is playing for Corinthians after spells in Europe with PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan.

He netted eight times in leading Corinthians to the Sao Paulo state championship title.

Brazil coach Dunga confirmed earlier in the month that he is "watching" Ronaldo, who has been FIFA's player of the year three times and finished as top goalscorer at the 2002 World Cup, scoring twice in the final to earn victory against Germany.

Ronaldo said: "It would be great to say goodbye playing in a World Cup, but that is Dunga's choice.

"But I know that I am not in the right shape yet to play in the 'Selecao'.

"I am working hard to reach that form in Corinthians, improving every day."
