Verbeek says neither will be ready for the match against Denmark in Roodepoort after both were unable to train fully with their teammates on Saturday (EST) at their pre-World Cup training camp in Johannesburg.

Emerton is battling a calf niggle while Kewell's groin was being worked on by medical staff during Saturday's training session, though he joined in training during the two sessions the previous day.

But Verbeek says both will be in contention for the Socceroos' final friendly before the World Cup against the United States on June 5.

"Definitely not Denmark, that is too soon,'' Verbeek told AAP reporters in South Africa.

"Harry joined with the boys yesterday. For Brett I have no concerns. He is one of our fittest players. It is just about not taking any risks.''
