Wayne Rooney is backing England to rise to the occasion and gain the positive result in Russia needed to keep them on course for the Euro 2008 finals.

Rooney was part of the England side which gained a nerve-jangling goalless draw with Turkey in Istanbul four years ago to clinch a place in the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal.
Now a win in Moscow on Wednesday will ensure England go through to next summer's finals in Austria and Switzerland while a draw will keep their destiny in their own hands.
Rooney scored his first competitive goal since the 4-2 win over Croatia in Euro 2004 to help England secure a 3-0 win over Estonia at Wembley.
The Manchester United star said: "We have got the job done today and we've got a similar game in Russia to the one we had to tackle in Istanbul a few years ago.
"We know it will be difficult and it will be a tough game - but we've got to go out there and attempt to do the job we know we have to do.
"It was a nervy night over there in Turkey. We had a few chances and could have won it. But we went out there and did a job and I am confident we can do the same again.
"There is definitely the belief and quality in this squad to get the same sort of result. There are a few younger players in the squad now - but the same, if not more, quality."
Meanwhile, Joe Cole has slammed the England fans for booing Frank Lampard when he came on as a second-half substitute.
Lampard has been targeted in recent England games when available and Cole is mystified as to why he is receiving such treatment.
He said: "I don't know what to say. Frank has been one of England's most consistent players over the years.
"He has never let England down. It is not nice to hear that. It is not nice to hear one of your mates getting that.
"He is a top player, for me he is one of the top players in the world and for me, he doesn't deserve it.
"For me, the only thing I would say he is one of the best players I've played with and he has never let England or Chelsea down and I don't understand it.
"Not so long ago he was England's Player Of The Year, and rightly so."
