Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will not travel with the squad to Sweden for their pre-season friendly with AIK Stockholm.
A shoulder injury Rooney suffered on Saturday in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Real Betis on Saturday has been stated as the reason with the decision coming hours after it was confirmed that another bid from Chelsea for the England international has been rejected.
Manager David Moyes had previously stated that he was expecting Rooney to travel to Sweden and the Scot is disappointed with the news that he will be without the 27-year-old.
"Wayne hurt his shoulder in a fall during a match on Saturday," Moyes told the club's official website.
"It's not too serious and I don't expect it to keep him out for too long.
"I'm disappointed he's missing the game because we were keen to get him back involved and ready to play."
The bid was the second approach made by the Stamford Bridge club but it was swiftly rejected, with United maintaining the player is not for sale.
Nemanja Vidic is set to make his first appearance of pre-season in Sweden, with the Serb named as captain.
