Wayne Rooney is set to return to the Manchester United starting line-up for tomorrow's Champions League encounter with Rangers at Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson left Rooney out of his matchday squad for Saturday's Barclays Premier League trip to Everton in an effort to protect his star striker from the abuse he was expected to receive.
But Rooney will play tomorrow and is expected to be joined in the United line-up by Rio Ferdinand. Michael Carrick (Achilles) is definitely out.
Team (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, O'Shea, Rafael, Neville, Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Smalling, Evra, Fabio, Valencia, Park, Gibson, Scholes, Anderson, Fletcher, Giggs, Nani, Rooney, Owen, Berbatov, Hernandez, Macheda.
