Socceroos coach Holger Osieck granted the pair permission to leave the camp in Seoul, South Korea, where Australia are competing at the East Asian Cup.

Neither Coe nor Pain played as Australia held on for a 0-0 draw against the hosts in their opening game on Saturday night thanks to a man-of-the-match performance from Eugene Galekovic.

Despite Osieck suggesting there had been no contact about releasing Victory players, the pair have been allowed to leave.

They will return to Korea on Thursday, but will be unavailable for Australia's clash against Japan on the same day.

Coe and Pain could play in the Socceroos' final group game of the tournament against China on July 28.

The duo's return provides Victory coach Ange Postecoglou with a boost ahead of the friendly against the English giants.

Victory are without Archie Thompson, Mark Milligan and Mitch Nichols – who are all away on international duty – with Coe and Pain both likely to start in front of a sell-out crowd at the MCG.
