With Brazil hosting the 2014 World Cup, they have had no qualifiers to play and have simply featured in friendly fixtures, with the last five of these seeing one win for the South Americans and four draws.
 
Scolari's men will have the chance to move up the rankings when they play their first competitive game since July 2011 at the Confederations Cup later this month.
 
Elsewhere in the rankings, the top four remains unchanged with Spain, Germany, Argentina and Croatia occupying these spots, while top-10 sides Portugal, Columbia and England all fall.
 
It is also a historic moment for four nations who are now ranked higher than ever before, with Mali (23rd), Belgium (12th), Bosnia (15th) and Albania (38th) all recording their best-ever positions.
 
In Asia, Japan dropped two places to 32nd while Korea improved two spots to 40. New Zealand shot up 30 places to 57th, just 10 spots behind the Socceroos now.
