EXCLUSIVE: Former Reds skipper Ross Aloisi senses Gamba Osaka are already celebrating Champions League success and says Adelaide can take advantage of the premature euphoria.
While many have labelled tonight's second leg as mission impossible, Aloisi says Aurelio Vidmar's men can still triumph.
A 3-0 deficit is a big challenge to overturn but Aloisi told au.fourfourtwo.com today: "I believe they can do it and people here in Adelaide believe it as well.
"I don't think Gamba Osaka looked particularly focused at training yesterday and it was a bit sloppy at times. I think they believe it's won."
Aloisi joked that he'd heard the visitors were already asking where they could buy some celebratory champagne.
He said: "I honestly believe that if they haven't scored in 90 minutes then Adelaide will do it.
"I think we can get the three goals and take the tie into extra-time. The crowd will obviously be a factor but I'm sure the players will want to do this for themselves as much as anything.
"Hopefully Adelaide can get that early goal and really push on from there. I think Cristiano is due a goal and I'm expecting a big game from Travis Dodd as well."
Adelaide are without several key players but Aloisi believes there is still enough quality for the home side to prevail.
He said: "I think young Mark Birighitti is going to be a real class keeper and he's very mature for a 17-year-old. He has no fear.
"I'm really looking forward to the game and hopefully it ends the way we all want it to."
