The 30-year-old Perth-raised midfielder revealed the news on social media on Wednesday evening.

It's understood Griffiths and his wife Caris are expecting their first child soon and want to return to Australia, having moved to Tashkent in August last year.

"Well our time in Pakhtakor has come to an end," Griffiths wrote. "Myself and Pakhtakor FC mutually agreed to terminate my contract early.

"My wife and I had some great memories over the past 10 months and have seen and experienced things we both never thought we would.

"I would like to wish the club all the best for the future  and hope they win the league which they're setup to do currently sitting top of the table."

Griffiths had made nine appearances this season for Pakhtakor who are top of the Uzbek Super League after 13 matches.
