DUTCH champions FC Twente have released Socceroo Nikita Rukavytsya after deciding not to exercise an option to extend his contract with the club.

FC Twente announced Rukavytsya's departure on their official website yesterday, along with Ransford Osei and Wellington.
The 22-year-old Australian striker, who is in South Africa with the Socceroos ahead of the World Cup, leaves Twente after joining the club in January last year from Perth Glory.
Rukavytsya, who was signed by the departed Steve McClaren, failed to cement himself in the Twente side during his spell at the club.
The ex-Glory man scored two goals for Twente during his time in the Netherlands, but was loaned out to relegated Belgian club KSV Roeselare for the second-half of this campaign.
Rukavytsya scored five goals for Roeselare during his loan spell and may hope to re-join the club although they'll compete in the Belgian second tier next season.
