AUSSIES ABROAD: Socceroo Nikita Rukavytsya scored overnight as Hertha Berlin drew 1-1 with FC Augsburg in a tense top of the table clash in Germany's 2.Bundesliga.
Rukavytsya opened the scoring on 28 minutes after a getting on the end of Ronny's throughball following a good run before a tidy left-foot finish.
Hertha, who had been reduced to 10-men after 15 minutes, conceded on 71 minutes when Nando Rafael scored from the penalty spot.
The game ended with plenty of drama with both sides reduced to nine men, but it ended 1-1, leaving Augsburg first on the table ahead of Hertha.
In England's Premier League, Brett Emerton put in a full shift as Blackburn Rovers drew 1-1 at home with struggling West Ham.
Blackburn's goal came after excellent work by Emerton on the right flank before whipping in a cross which caused chaos inside the box allowing Ryan Nelsen to prod home from close-range.
Vince Grella was absent due to an Achilles injury.
In England's Championship, Adam Federici won praise from Reading boss Brian McDermott as the Royals defeated Derby County 2-1.
McDermott said: "Our keeper was first class. His kicking was good and his organisation was good. He's made saves that basically have won us the game. That's what you want from your keeper, making saves that make a difference and he's done that today."
Elsewhere, Neil Kilkenny played a full game and a key role in Leeds' 2-0 win over QPR, while Richard Garcia was absent due to a knee injury sustained last weekend as Hull beat Bristol City 2-0.
In Italy's Serie B, Socceroo Carl Valeri started and played 76 minutes as struggling Sassuolo claimed a much-needed 5-3 win over Frosinone.
Elsewhere, Adrian Madaschi was not in the Portogruaro squad which drew 1-1 with Modena.
In Germany's Bundesliga, Mitch Langerak was an unused substitute as Borussia Dortmund slumped to a rare defeat, losing 1-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Elsewhere, Dario Vidosic was not in the FC Nurnberg squad which won 3-1 at home over Hannover 96.
In Turkey's Super Lig, Mile Jedinak was absent due to injury as Genclerbirligi lost 5-1 at home to Bursaspor.
In Scotland's Premier League, Ryan McGowan was missing as Hearts drew 1-1 with Inverness, while Danny Invincibile was also absent as Kilmarnock defeated Hibernian 2-1.
In the Club World Cup, Sasa Ognenovski was suspended as Seongnam Ilhwa lost 4-2 to Internacional in the third-place playoff.
