SOCCEROO Nikita Rukavytsya has joined German Bundesliga club FSV Mainz in a deadline day transfer from second tier outfit Hertha Berlin.
The 25-year-old former Perth Glory attacker has penned a three-year deal with Mainz, who have been interested in his services for the past few months.
Mainz manager Christian Heidel admitted the club were delighted to sign the Socceroo, who made his name in Germany when he finished with the second most assists in the 2.Bundesliga in the 2010-11 season.
"We are pleased that the transfer has now succeeded," Heidel said on the club's website.
"Rukavytsya is an incredibly fast offensive player on the flanks, which will give us more flexibility in attack. He moves deftly into goalscoring areas and sets up his teammates very well."
Ukraine-born Rukavytsya leaves Hertha after two seasons in the capital, where he helped them to promotion before suffering relegation last term.
Mainz, who have been in the top flight since 2009, finished 13th last term under long-term boss Thomas Tuchel.
