Midfielder Bender scored the winner for Germany in their 2-1 victory over Denmark at Euro 2012 when coach Joachim Loew handed him a start at right-back.

Bayer Leverkusen general manager Wolfgang Holzhauser has accused Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes of tapping up Bender, while also revealing an official approach for the 23-year-old had been rejected.

Rummenigge said if the price was right, Bayern would be interested in signing Bender.

"I recommend that Leverkusen take things in a more relaxed and more confident manner than right now," he said.

"Everyone knows that we are watching the transfer market for players in that position (defensive midfielder) and our sports directors have some players on their list who they are watching.

"I can only say that we are pretty relaxed in this case. We could imagine that Lars Bender will be a target for Bayern Munich, but we have to wait.

"We know that there is a price for every player and if Bayern Munich is willing to pay that price, it is possible that the player will pull on a Bayern shirt but we have to calm down."

Meanwhile, Bayern president Uli Hoeness has again called for FIFA president Sepp Blatter to resign, saying the only way forward for the game is without the Swiss.

World football's governing body came under further scrutiny this month after it was revealed former president Joao Havelange had accepted bribes.

"I personally think that reform is not possible with Blatter in charge," Hoeness said.

"This should not be taken as an affront for Mr (Joachim) Eckert (the judge and German Football Federation member on the FIFA anti-corruption enquiry), who is looking into things in Germany, or anyone else.

"These are honourable people who are doing a good job, but I don't think that they will get the information they need to make things change.

"I am mostly interested in re-investigating what has happened in the past and Mr Blatter only seems to be interested in future reforms. I think the future can only take place without him."
