Socceroo Mat Ryan couldn’t prevent Romanian club Astra Giurgiu from equalising late in Genk’s 2-2 away draw in their Europa League first leg overnight.
Ryan played 90 minutes in the Round of 32 clash, making a brilliant save in the 89th minute to deny Cristian Sapunaru’s header.
However, from the resultant corner, Astra equalised with a close-range header from Takayuki Seto which Ryan could do nothing about.
Timothy Castagne had given Genk a 25th minute lead, before Ryan was beaten at his near post by Constantin Budescu’s 43rd minute strike.
Leandro Trossard restored Genk’s lead on 83 minutes, before the late leveller.
