The 24-year-old ex-Perth Glory midfielder is a free agent after leaving Partick Thistle following their relegation from the Scottish top flight.

Edwards was tied down with Thistle until 2020, but invoked a relegation clause in his contract last month.

FourFourTwo understands Edwards and Hearts should complete the deal within the next 48 hours.

Singapore-born Edwards made 44 appearances and scored five goals in all competitions for the Jags last season and is well regarded in Scotland.

He will join Garuccio at Tynecastle Park, after the left-back signed a pre-contract with Hearts from Adelaide United last month.

Hearts finished sixth in the 2017-18 Scottish Premiership season and are managed by ex-Scotland boss Craig Levein.
