The Socceroos number one goalkeeper was reported on Tuesday by England’s Daily Mail and Brighton’s The Argus to be close to completing a move to the Seagulls from Spanish giants Valencia.

Ryan is currently in camp with Australia ahead of Thursday’s must-win 2018 World Cup qualifier but Postecoglou insisted the speculation is likely to have had no effect.

“There are no distractions in camp,” Postecoglou said.

“The players are fairly focused on what’s at hand. At the end of the day, strong performances over the next month aren’t going to hamper anyone’s ability to further their careers.

“I’m not sure about the rest of them, but we don’t spend our whole day on Twitter feeds.

“We’ve got work to do and for the most part the boys are pretty occupied and concentrating on the game tomorrow.”

Brighton are in the market for a goalkeeper after regular custodian David Stockdale rejected a new deal, with several clubs reportedly keen on him.

The Ryan link comes following a challenging 2015-16 season where he made only two appearances in the first-half of the campaign for Valencia, leading to his loan to Belgian club Genk.

Ryan was a regular at Genk and helped the side reach the Europa League quarter-finals but told FourFourTwo he wouldn’t remain at the club, with a view to winning the number one spot at Valencia.

“They just announced a new coach, he’s a coach with a lot of experience,” Ryan told FourFourTwo in May.

“My goal at the moment is to be the number one and prove myself at Valencia and in La Liga. It’s a big club and I’m very lucky to have a contract there."
