CENTRAL Coast Mariner Mat Ryan's trial with Scottish club Rangers has been put on hold due to a shoulder injury the goalkeeper sustained on Sunday.
The gifted shot-stopper suffered a knock during a 2-0 win over the Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League, prompting both parties to agree to indefinitely postpone the trial.
Ryan, last season's A-League goalkeeper of the year, is expected to be fit for the Mariners clash with Melbourne Victory in Launceston on Saturday.
The 20-year-old has made 61 appearances for the Mariners since his debut in 2010 and earned the first of two international caps for Australia against North Korea last December.
Former Scottish Premier League powerhouse Rangers are playing in the Scottish Third Division after entering administration in February, 2012.
