Socceroo Trent Sainsbury is reportedly set to sign with Sydney FC.
BeINSPORTS reports Sainsbury is on the cusp of signing a short-term deal with the Sky Blues in a bid to stay fit ahead of the World Cup while his club side Jiangsu Suning is on break until March.
Sainsbury was coached by former Central Coast Mariners boss Graham Arnold with the defender paying close attention to Sydney’s 2-2 draw with the Jets on Wednesday night.

However, Fox Sports' Daniel Garb has rubbished the reports saying Sainsbury was simply using the club's physio.
Trent Sainsbury will not be signing on loan with @SydneyFC.

Reports are incorrect.
Was just doing some physio with the club, heads to Spain soon for pre-season training. @FOXSportsNews @FOXFOOTBALL
The 25-year-old won the A-League Championship under Arnold in 2013 before playing for PEC Zwolle and Inter Milan.
Sainsbury, who married Arnold’s daughter last month, would be a massive boost throughout the remainder of the A-League season and the ACL.
More to come.
